The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC( held a meeting today, Sunday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, with the attendance of its members Sultan al-Arada, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, and via video call Abdul-Rahman al-Mahrami and Othman Majli, while Aidaroos al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh and Faraj al-Bahsni were absent with an excuse.

Yemen, UN discuss relief, humanitarian situations

Minister of Local Administration AbdulraqeebFath discussed with the Director of UN Office for Coordinating Humanitarian Affairs OCHA in Yemen George Khouri developments of humanitarian and relief situation in Yemen.

The UN relief plan 2018 and means of enhancing cooperation between the government of Yemen and OCHA, were also discussed.

Fath, who is also the Head of the Supreme Relief Committee (SRC) discussed with Khouri opening an office for the organization in Hadhramout Province and activating the organization's office in the transitional Capital of Aden, as well as gradual implementation of decentralizing relief activity via activating international organizations offices in province regions.

He called upon UN organizations to make use of all ground, sea and air outlets in the liberated provinces for receiving and providing aid and humanitarian assistances to needy across Yemen.

He valued efforts of all UN organizations operating in Yemen, confirming that the Committee will provide different support and facilitations to ease their activities.

Khouri expressed happiness for the meeting and showed readiness of full cooperation with the SRC and coordination in all relief and development projects.
