Yemen launches humanitarian response plan 2018

Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nizarba-Suhaib, in cooperation with the United Nation Organization for Humanitarian Affairs (OHA), launched Tuesday the Humanitarian Response Plan 2018 in Yemen.

Worth USD 2.9 billion, the plan includes different stages in a number of domains of internally displaced people and refugees, health, education, water and services and targets 22 million people, 11 million of them are very needy.

The plan disclosed increase of 68 percent of beneficiaries between 2014-2017 from 11 to 17 million people.

Ba-Suhaib renewed call for the international organizations to relocate their organizations to Aden, confirming keenness of the Ministry of Planning on providing all facilitations to enable these organizations to carry out programs.

He stressed on doubling relief efforts in areas of bad need and remote areas, including those under Houthi militia's control, where aid does not go to deserve cases.

He thanked all partners- led by King Salma Center for Relief and Humanitarian Activities, UAE Red Crescent and OHA- for help making the plan.
