Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi told the deputy chief of US diplomatic mission to YemenAna A. Escrogimthat resuming the political process "requires trusts building measures" on the Houthi rebels' side.

In a meeting with Escrogim in Riyadh on Tuesday, al-Mekhlafi said resuming the political process "requires trusts building measures and proof of goodfaith" especially after all such crimes have been committed and are still being, so that the held talks do not be "just a media event or a public relations campaign for wasting a precious time" Yemenis cannot afford. He pointed to the rebels' recent killing of their erstwhile ally Ali Abdullah Saleh and atrocities against his supporters in Sana'a.

He said the Yemeni people will accept nothing less than "a real peace" that restores the state in compliance with the terms of reference for peace.

He highly appreciated the American clear support to the government including the financial and technical support to the government to secure the country's air, land and sea ports of entry. He said it is necessary that the whole international community works pressure on Iran to stop its interferences in Yemen and the whole region.

He said that the government's insistence on ensuring a lasting just peace has not changed; to have a peace based on the GCC Agreement, the outcomes of theNational Dialogue and the UN resolutions on Yemen.

He renewed the government's commitments to keep the country's ports of entry at the disposal of incoming humanitarian aid shipments and to ensure the access of the citizens to this aid.
