Al-Mikhlafi, USA Charge d' Affairs discuss latest developments in Yemen

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi discussed with US Charge d' Affairs latest developments in Yemen and deteriorated security and economic situation in the Capital Sana'a and Houthi militia- held areas.

Al-Mikhlafi expressed concern over continuous crimes and mass arrest by the militia against people.

He confirmed that the government is comminuting with other political forces for responding to President Hadi's call to gather behind the legitimized government and the Saudi-led Coalition for facing Houthi militia as the greatest danger in Yemen.

The government is currently working with the Arab Coalition for making a plan for quick provision of relief and aid to the deserve people across Yemen via all Yemeni outlets and securing safe tracks to ensure their arrival to needy in remote areas, said al-Mikhlafi.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs renewed government's support to efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen for finding peaceful solution based on the three references: The GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216.

He confirmed that there will be no talks with the militia only after stopping crimes against politicians and citizens, releasing all prisoners at the militia's detentions, stop firing rockets and assaults on cities and allowing relief to the needy people.

For her part, the US Charge d' Affairs praised efforts of the government as the real partner with the international community in achieving peace and that the USA supports the government and denounces all aggressive practices do not serve peace.

She confirmed the UN peace track, saying there is now a chance to the political leadership for unifying efforts to regaining the state and realize peace.
