The team of the National Committee for Investigating Human Rights Violations Claims has visited Mareb Central Prison andthe Investigation Office's Prison and inspected inmates' conditions and the situation of the prisons.
The team arrived inMareb on Sunday and was received by Deputy Governor Abdo-RabboMiftah. The head of the team JudgeTaher al-Faeq presented a review on the committee's tasks on investigation, monitoring and documenting claims of human rights violations.
Judge al-Faeq presented a review on the establishingof the committee, which will investigate violations committed since 2011 by different parities, noting that the committee carries out its duties secretly and raises its reports directly to the General Prosecutor for referring violators to justice.
He confirmed that the committee performs its job impartiality as people in the liberated provinces or in Houthi-held areas have the same rights, praising government's cooperation with the committee and its teams and cooperation of local authorities in liberated provinces.
Miftah, who confirmed provision of all facilitations to the committee's team, pointed out that Mareb Province has received more than million displaced people- since the militia coup against the government- from different provinces and most of them have been subjected to violations by the militia.
The government has achieved security and peace in Mareb and activated the state's institutions, led by the prosecution and judiciary, built a prison for women and trained security and police affiliates on legal arrest and on international law and other laws, said Miftah.
For his part, the Head of the Prosecution Aref al-Mikhlafi called all wronged people by the rebel militia to provide a formal petition to prosecutions in their provinces.
