Marib Deputy Governor Abdullah al-Bakeri inaugurated the first hypermarket named "Marib Hyper" in the eastern city on Tuesday.
The superstore, owned by investor Yahya bin Maeeli, is nearly a 250 million Yemeni rials investment.
"This project is part of several commercial and industrial projects that have been set up or are still under construction," al-Bakeri said as he toured the store's departments. He said that the city is witnessing a commercial boom.
The investor Maeeli said that hyper offered 25 job opportunities and soon more jobs will be created.
