Yemeni-Egyptian cooperation in renewable energy discussed

Minister of Electricity and Energy Eng. Abdullah Al-Qwa'a discussed with his Egyptian counterpart Dr Mohammed Shaqer aspects of bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries in the area of energy, particularly renewable energy.
Al-Aqwa'a explained Yemen's need to make use of Egyptian distinctive experiment and experience to cope with the substantial shortage of power by establishing great power projects have proved successful in addressing energy shortages in Egypt.
The Egyptian minister noted the steps his country had taken to establish great power-generate projects in short period and extraordinary procedures. He also welcomed cooperation with Yemen, affirming his ministry willingness to offer all possible and needed support.
Eng. Al-Aqwa'a signed a memo of understanding between the Ministry of Electricity and Energy and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy of Arab League.
The memo is pertaining to cooperation in the area of renewable energy and increasing Yemen's capacities to take the advantage of this domain in coordination with the international financing organizations to secure the needed funds to conduct studies and proposals for renewable energy in Yemen.
