The UN Security Council has affirmed its strong commitment to unity, Sovereignty, Independence and territorial integrity of Yemen.

The UN Security Council condemned, in statement it issued, with the strongest words launching a ballistic missile by Houthi-putschist militia toward the Saudi capital Riyadh on December 19,2017.

The statement said" The GCC's brokered-deal and its executive mechanism, outcomes of the Inclusive National Dialogue Conference and the relevant Security Council's resolutions and statements including resolution 2216 of (2015) provides the groundwork for inclusive negotiations aiming to bring about political settlement to the crisis in Yemen; expressing its concerns about the continuation of not implementing these resolutions".

The UN Security Council members called on parties to constructively contribute to the assiduous efforts have been made by the special envoy of the UN Secretary General to Yemen Ismail Old Sheikh Ahmed. The members also called on all member states to fully comply with aspects of the blockade imposed on weapons in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council's resolutions… They also voiced deep concerns about reports point to the continuation of violations of the blockade.

The UN Security Council hailed the announcement by the Saudi Arabia Kingdom recently about re-opening Hodeida seaport.
