The Houthi militia has abducted 18606 persons, 2638 of them are in forced disappearance,in different Yemeni provinces, a local NGO said.
The Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights said the rebel militia abducted that total number of people between September 2014 and July 2017.
The NGO pointed in a statement that the detained and forcibly disappeared face hard humanitarian conditions as the militia subject them to torture in jails. "That is a crime against humanity."
The NGO affirmed that they will continue to monitor and document the abuses which the militia commits against the civilians especially the vulnerable segments of the society; women and children.
The NGO called the UN Security Council to do something to stop the militia's abuses and force them to release the activists they hold in jails especially those held incommunicado.
