Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik arrived Wednesday in the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi on an official visit in response to an invitation from the leadership of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.

Yemen participates in meetings of G7+, Arab Trade Ministers

Yemen participated in the meeting of the Trade Ministers of (G7+) member states which established in 2010 and Yemen joined to in March 2016.
The gathering held on the sidelines of the 11th Ministerial Conference of the member states of World Trade Organization (WTO) which held in the Argentinean capital Buenos Aires. The group includes 20 countries have suffered or going through political upheavals or wars have affected stability and development.
Yemen's delegation headed by Minister of Industry and Trade dr Mohammed Al-Maitami attended also the meeting of Arab Trade Ministers chaired by the Saudi Minister of Trade and Investment.
During the two meetings Dr Al-Maitami stressed the importance of taking into account Yemen's current circumstances and increasing institutional and technical support until it gets out of its dilemma.
The minister cited the catastrophic economic challenges Yemen has been struggling with as a result of the coup carried out by Houthi militia that obstructed legal government's plans aimed to address several developmental challenges.
Dr Al-Maitami called on the governments of the member states of the two groups to prop up the legal government so as to retake the state's institutions and re-establish peace that is based on the GCC's Initiative, outcomes of the National Dialogue and UN Security Council resolution 2216. He also called for technical and institutional assistance for economic recovery and reconstruction programs the Yemeni government is planning.
