Yemen holds Houthis responsible on evacuating UN workers

NEW YORK
Yemen's Permanent Representative in the United Nations Khaled al-Yamani has shouldered Iran backed Houthi militias full responsibility of evacuation of UN employees from Yemen after recent bloody incidents in Sana'a.
Evacuating the UN employees will negatively affect humanitarian and relief activities in a time Yemen faces a number of challenges including food needs, malnutrition and health deteriorated condition, said al-Yamani in a meeting for donors on supporting Central Emergency Response Fund.
" The occupied Sana'a Capital by Iran's militia is living its darkest moment in its history as the militias has not stopped until the moment committing crimes against leaders and cadre of the General People Congress after assassinating former President Ali Abdullah Saleb by Houthis," he said.
Al-Yamani pointed out that the Fund provided during 2017 assistances to Yemen worth USD 25 million, with an increase of USD 10 million on 2016, because of humanitarian deterioration this year.
He confirmed that the government will continue to extend hand for peace and ending the war and this humanitarian ordeal faced by Yemeni people.
The International community should press more than the past on these militias for returning to negotiation table to implement the Resolution 2216.
