Minister of Information Muammar al-Eryani has condemned the Houthirebel militias for storming the headquarters of al-Yemen al-Yowmnews TV channel in Sana'a and seizing more than 40 of its workers.
As the channelstarted covering the uprising against the Houthisin the capital city a few days ago, members of the rebel militia stormed its headquarters, seized the 41 workers in it and injured three of its guards.
In a statement to Saba Al-Eryanicalled on the international organizations to "leave the status of passive onlookers and take acts to press the militias to stop tormenting all the Yemeni journalists (in their detention)."
He said that that the varied abuses the militia commits " show the ugly faceof this theologian sectarian militia aligned with Iran."
He said that the seized personnel are held in inhumane conditions; in the basement of the channel without food or blankets in very cold weather."
He called for releasing all detained journalists from the custody of thecriminal extremist militia which saved no way of repression and abuse against outspoken journalists.
