Socotra Governor launches marine patrols, first police batch

Governor of Socotra Archipelago Ahmad Abdullah al-Socotri launched on Saturday the plan of marine patrol carried out by the Archipelago's Coast Guards.
Governor al-Socotri was briefed by the commander of the coasts' battalion colonel Mohammad Ahmad on the future plan to be carried out by the battalion for protecting security in the Archipelago, its border and wealth against any foreign aggression.
He stressed on defending the homeland and its stability, confirming local authority's readiness to facilitate all challenges facing daily patrols.
On the other hand, Governor al-Socotri attended on Saturday graduation ceremony of the first batch of police forces in Socotra Archipelago. The batch included 360 soldiers trained on different security fields.
He praised the role exerted by police in promoting security of the province and enhancing high alert in checkpoints deployed on the province's entrances.
For his part, Director of Police Colonel SalehSaeed confirmed that there are other batches to be trained on the forthcoming days for tightening security in the province.
