Arrangements are underway to launch a national vaccination campaign against Diphtheria. Undersecretary of Ministry of Public Health and Population for health primary health care Dr Ali Al-Waleadi held meeting Wednesday with Dr Mohammed Ishaq from the UNICEF and Dr Hussein Younis and Dr Omer Zain from the WHO.

The meeting focused on efforts have been made by the Ministry of Public Health and Populations to launch nation-wide immunization campaign against diphtheria.

Several steps have already been made to launch the campaign within short time ahead. Training workshops were held over the past couples of days Monday and Tuesday.

The two-day workshops offered endemic observing teams-work the necessary training. Next week medical staffs will be trained on therapy policy and how to give vaccine.
