Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr has condemned the Houthi-Saleh militias' torture of the activists - they had abducted and forcibly disappeared - sometimes to the point of death.
In a meeting with the Chairwoman of the Abductees' Mothers Association, Amat al-Salam al-Haj in Aden on Sunday, bin-Daghr called on the international community to press the militias to release scores of peaceful activists they abducted and forced into disappearance over the course of their rebellion since they seized power by force in 2014.
He acquainted al-Haj about his recent proposal to the rebels through the ICRC chief to swap prisoners unconditionally, an offer the rebels rejected.
He praised the abductees' mothers fight and perseverance for the freedom of their children in the rebels' jails promising to keep working to alleviate the suffering of the families of the forcibly disappeared.
He issued directives to the government to pay an amount of YR 149 million as salaries to the families of 2483 forcibly disappeared.
Al-Haj called on the international community and the UN to press the rebel militias for releasing the forcibly disappeared saying their children are subjected to horrific abuses in the rebel militias' prisons.
