PM reviews fishery projects in government held provinces

Prime Minister Dr Ahmed Obeid Bin-Dagher met Sunday, in interim capital Aden, with Minister of Fishery Wealth Fahad Salim Qafin.

Fishery projects in progress in the provinces under legal government control were discussed.

Qafin reported to the prime minister about underway efforts has been made by his Ministry to improve production, tackle obstacles facing fishermen businesses and develop fishery sector given that its one of the country's most promising resources.

Bin-Dagher also was briefed on the troubles that population of Socatra Archipelago have been long complaining about, mainly the high coast of transport from and to the Island and basic services that need to be improved.

The prime minister instructed Oil Company in Hudramout province to allocate 30 tons of diesel per week to subsidize transport tickets so as to be affordable for the citizens of Socatra.

Bin-Dagher also ordered to get project under construction in Socatra accomplished such May 22 Hopsiptal in Hodaibo and 15 km road between Hodaibo and Qlinissia.

Ministry of Finance also is ordered to finance two projects: Ice Factory and Waves Breaker in Socatra.

Minister of Fishery Wealth detailed the prime minister of the Ministry activities. He reported that more than 500 boats and motors were distributed to fishermen who suffered losses due to Chapala hurricane.

Ministry also follows-up the business of manufacturing and importing 400 boats and motors will be distributed to fishermen in the provinces of Al-Maharah, Shabwa, Abyan and Taiz, and other provinces later on.

The dock of Shoqra harbor, fish market and Wave Breaker all projects in progress in Abyan province, said minister of Fishery Wealth.
