The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied allegations in circulation in some local news websites that the government is planning on selling state properties in Ethiopia.
A source in the ministry told Saba "the claims are mere fabrications that we are used to hearing things like…they come as part of a continuous campaign by certain parties that don’t like the achieved progress in Yemen's relations with its brotherly and friendly countries."
The source expressed surprise atthe fabricators' attribution of the two state-owned buildings to the Yemeni community in Ethiopia. It said:"The party behind these rumorsattributed the ownership of the buildings to the community, which arouses surprise and casts doubts about the intentions of those who stand behind these rumors."
"The assets and properties of Yemen abroad are well preserved and the ministry's leadership will never allow the sale of them."
The source called on the news websites to verify the authenticity of their stories before circulating them.
