ADEN-SABA
The Government has denounced the "poisoned lies" concerning the amount of local currency banknotes recently printed and brought from Russia and the rumors that a boat was seized heading toward Africa while trying to smuggle a shipment of the banknotes.

In a statement to Saba, a government source said that "behind such lies and rumors are certain parties that want to fail the government and sabotage its determined effortsto renormalize life in the temporary capital Aden, end the (Saleh-Houthi) rebellion and prevent the national economy from collapse."

Several blogsand websites exaggerated the amounts printed in Russia much more than the real amount (YR 36 billion) to spread the fears of proportional devaluation of the Riyals.

The statement read: "This imported shipment of 36 billion Riyals, a property of the Central Bank of Yemen, was printed in Russia according to an official agreement between the CBY and the Russian firm Goznak. The talks about smuggling it arouses ridicule and pity at the same timefor those who believe such fabrications. How come that a legit government would smuggle money?"

The source said that the printed banknotes shipment managed to offload the shipments in Aden seaport despite the attempts of some hooligans to prevent that by force.
