KSA offered Yemen $8.27 billion in aid, says Arrabi'a

The Supervisor of KSRelief Center Dr Abdulla Arrabia said that total amounts of aids provided by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to Yemen made up $8.27 billion dollars from April 2015 through October 2017.

Addressing high- level meeting on partnership for lasting peace in Yemen, held in Oslo, Norway, Dr Arrabi'ah said:" KSRelief Center carried out 161 projects all over Yemeni regions through 86 local and international partners. The projects covered areas of food, shelter, health, environment and community support".

He explained that woman and children programs reached to 148 projects, out of which 80 projects for children included education, food security, health, water. Meanwhile, woman projects counted 68 addressed protection, education, food security, health and environment.

He noted that Houthi militias recruited 20thoussand Yemeni children and KSRelief Center sponsored project aimed to rehabilitate those children who were recruited by the militias.

Dr Arrabia touched upon Saudi Arabia's support in health sector noting that the Kingdom supported Yemeni Ministry of Health, WHO and UNICEF with more than $75 million dollars to help controlling cholera. The KSRelief Center launched a convoy carried out 550 tons of medical staffs to the areas where cholera pandemic widely spread, he added.
