Minister portrays historical impact of Houthi-Saleh rebellion on industrial development

The Minister of Industry and Trade Dr. Mohammed al-Maitami has portrayed the historical impact of the Houthi-Saleh militias' rebellion on the industrial development and on humanitarian situation in Yemen.
Addressing the 7th edition of the UNIDO Least Development Countries' Ministerial Conference opened on 23 November 2017, in Vienna, Austria, al-Maitami the rebellion caused "the paralysis of all economic sectors and the industrial sector in particular."
The Minister said the repercussions of the rebellion and insurgency that the militias conducted created a humanitarian disaster of "a scale not seen before in the history of Yemen."
The Minister intends to follow up with his peers to solicit support for the government to overcome the multilevel challenges resulting from the conflict.
The conference in Vienna, 23-24 November, will aim to identify innovative mechanisms by enabling resource mobilization for sustainable industrial development in LDCs.
