[23/11/2017 01:01]

CAIRO-SABA

Minister of Justice Jamal Mohammed Omer said:" Houthi-Saleh coup militias have destructed and looted courts and prosecutions throughout Yemeni provinces that came under their control, turning courts and prosecutions into military command centers, destroying all dossiers and documents".

Speaking at opening session of Arab Justice Ministers Council, of its 33rd Round held in Cairo Thursday, Omer added :" Many staffs of judicial authority have been detained and excluded by these rebellious militias, salaries haven't been paid for one year, thereby judiciary authority's action has ceased around the country where courts and prosecutions have been closed".

The justice minister continued to say:" Legal government has paid special attention to judiciary, and moved toward reviving judiciary action, courts buildings were repaired in the liberated provinces and salaries were paid to judiciary staffs all over the country".

The minister touched upon the conflict in Yemen, blaming Houthi-Saleh militias' coup d'état for disrupting the political transition process, pushing the country to devastating civil war. As a result legal leadership headed by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi had to ask help from the GCC member states to stop Iranian interferences and bring things back to the right path.

On the sidelines of Arab Justices Ministers' gathering, the minister met with his Eyptian counterpart the Consultant Mohammed Hossam.

Yemeni-Egyptian cooperation in judiciary domain were discussed, particularly in the area of training. The Egyptian minister demonstrated willingness to support the High Judiciary Institute in Yemen with the needed experts and trainers.
