Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik arrived Wednesday in the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi on an official visit in response to an invitation from the leadership of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi met on Monday with Portuguese Ambassador to Yemen Manuel Carvalho over ending his term as non-resident Ambassador to Yemen.
Minister al-Mikhlafi highlighted positions of Portugal on supporting Yemen since the beginning of power transfer in Yemen and during the war imposed by Houthi-Saleh's rebels on Yemen and the region.
He confirmed Yemen's firm position for realizing peace in accordance with the agreed upon references; the Gulf Initiative, the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216, despite rebels' rejection to the UN envoy efforts.
He also confirmed that the government-despite all challenges- works hard for improving situations in liberated provinces and providing services to people after rebels destroyed infrastructure in places have been under their held.
He noted that the Portuguese companies can play a significant role in future reconstruction in Yemen.
For his part, Portuguese diplomat praised efforts of the government for improving living conditions of people in liberated areas, as this sends clear message that the government is doing its duties towards its people.
