Joint defense and security plan endorsed

Plenary meeting held in Aden Saturday brought together commanders of defense and security institutions and apparatuses.

The gathering aimed to discus and approve joint defense and security plan devised by Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, National Security Organization, Political Security Organization and the so-called Security Belt Directorate.

The plan was designed under supervision by Joint Operation Command which represents the Unified Center of Joint Command and Control.

The joint defense and security plan is intended to re-establish security and stability as well as to counter extremist and terrorist actions.

Deputy chief of staff Maj.General Saleh Azendani, who chaired the meeting, highlighted the need for establishing a unified center of joint command and control to assume leadership of all defense, security, intelligence and administrative units in Aden and other liberated regions.

General Azendani also emphasized the importance of engaging local legal and administrative authorities in putting the joint security and defense plan in place. Civil society organizations and ordinary peoples all are urged to help defense and security services to re-reestablish security and stability and control law-breakers,he noted.
