Fateh: Condemns enforced displacement in Taiz

Minister of Local Administration Abdulrqeep Fateh, Chairman of Relief Committee has condemned the rebellious militias move in which they have forced mass- displacement in the district of Jabal Habashi.

The militiamen coerced the population to leave their own houses under gun machine fire, plant landmines and explosive devices around houses.

Fateh called on the UN Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Jamie Mcgoldrick to condemn the militias' illegal practice and violations they commit on a daily –basis against the population of Taiz and other provinces throughout the country. The minister also asked the UN official to visit Taiz in order to be introduced to the militias crimes against children, women and civilian and enforced displacement.

He urged the UN coordinator pay field visit to Taiz and report about the militias criminal acts to the International organizations and Security Council as soon as possible.

Fateh described systemically killing children and forcefully displacing inhabitants in Tais may amount to war crimes against unfortunate civilians have been besieged for more than three years.

He stated that silence by the UN Coordinator for Human Rights is no longer acceptable and cast doubt over the UN credibility and impartiality.

Fateh said:" UN organizations ought to understand that Yemen has been faced by rebellious militias and criminal gangs carried out a coup d'état against an elected President and legal government, violated international humanitarian laws, committed gruesome crimes against Yemeni people".
