In a meeting with the new Dutch ambassador to Yemen Irma Van Dueren in Riyadh on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi said that Yemen welcomes the planned visit of an international humanitarian mission from a number of donor countries to inspect the projects that their countries finance in Yemen. The office of the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen is arranging for the visit.
"Yemen welcomes such a visit because it is for humanitarian purposes and does not contradict the track of political settlement which the UN supervises," al-Mekhlafi said.
Irma indicated that the humanitarian visit is going to be in coordination with the Yemeni government, and to be comprehensive, neutral and not politicized.
She said that she will work closely with the government to make the Dutch political, developmental and human itarian support to Ymeen a success thanking the government for facilitating her mission and cooperation in relief aid delivery.
She said that her country is looking forward to have a role in Yemen's reconstruction, hopefully after the achievement of political settlement.
