Kuwait renews support to Yemen's unity, legality

Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabah al-Sabbah confirmed his country's support to Yemen's unity, respecting its sovereignty, independence and rejecting interferences in its internal affairs.

In a speech he delivered in the Arab Coalition's meeting for foreign ministers and chiefs of staff, he pointed out to keenness of the state of Kuwait on supporting efforts of the Arab Coalition for Supporting Legality in Yemen as the key body expressing international will for regaining order in Yemen.

He renewed readiness of the State of Kuwait to host Yemeni brothers for signing final agreement agreed upon by all parties, confirming that signing an agreement will open the space for holding a conference for reconstruction in Yemen.

The meeting aims at confirmation to the international community on proceeding with the hope for a peaceful solution based on the UNSC's resolutions, namely Resolution 2216, for ending clashes and restoration of the internationally recognized legality to the state's bodies, he said.

"The State of Kuwait confirms measures, including military strikes carried out by the countries of the coalition, is a collective and coordinated action in line with internationally-applied rules.. aiming for restoration of the legality and stability across brotherly Yemen," said Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He expressed Kuwait's denouncement for firing ballistic rocket by the rebel militias on a housing compound south of Saudi Arabia. He labeled the attack as aggressive violating the international humanitarian law and threating regional and international security.

He confirmed solidarity with Saudi Arabia for the measures it takes for protecting its safety. He also renewed support of Kuwait to efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen for reaching a political solution to the crisis.
