Human Rights Ministry condemns militias attack of prisoners in Sana'a
[22/10/2017 04:28]
ADEN-SABA
The Ministry of Human Rights has condemned the Saleh-Houthi militias' attack of oppositionists in the Central Jail of the capital Sana'a on Sunday.

The coup militias injured scores of inmates as they used live bullets and tear gas bombs to break into the jail and get 50 of them out of jail to relocate them to unknown detentions where they will, probably, use them as human shields or incur their forcible disappearance.

In a statement to Saba, the Ministry said the militias "bear responsibility for the safety of the abductees" calling on the UN Security Council and international organization to press the militias by all means to respect the laws and basic human rights laws and to end the arbitrary detentions and forcible disappearance of oppositionists.

The Ministry called for "the immediate release of all detainees and ending the assaults and tortures against them." It said these abuses "are war crimes against humanity" whose perpetrators will be punished and prosecuted locally and internationally sooner or later.
