Yemen calls on Humanitarian Coordinator to release Taiz aid
[10/10/2017 02:39]

TAIZ-SABA
The Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Relief Aid Abduraqeeb Fatah has called on the Humanitarian Coordinator Jamie McGoldrick and the WFP to pressure the Saleh-Houthi militias into releasing a convoy of relief aid seized by the Saleh-Houthi militias in western coastal Taiz.

In a press statement, he said that the militias' continued obstruction of aid convoys hinders the destitute and war-afflicted people's access to aid.

Fatah expressed his regret over the international organization's silence for the continuity of the violations toward such militia practices saying the silence is not accepted. He said that most of the intercepted aid is the one that comes from the UN organizations.

He also called on the WFP to condemn this behavior and all the militias' violations against the aid convoys.

He said that "almost all the Saleh-Houthi militias' violations fall amount in severity to gross violations of the international laws.

He advised the international organizations to use alternative routes for their sent aid, mainly the Aden-Taiz route.
