Marib governor boasts conscription of women to police

The Governor of Marib Sultan al-Arrada has said , "for the first time the foundation for establishing policewomen has been laid", boasting the conscription of and inaugurated training for 30 to-be policewomen in the province a couple of days ago.

Chairing a meeting of the local Security Committee to discuss the routine security business, he said: "The first batch has been conscripted and enrolled in training given the importance of promoting the security institutions and empowering women and involving them in the service of their society through the military institutions or other institutions. Because they represent half the society."
