AL-GHEIDHA-SABA
Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr continues to inaugurate new projects and inspect the existing ones in the southeastern province of Mahrah.

On Wednesday, bin-Daghr laid the foundation stone for deepening Nashtoon seaport and establishing a control unit for it.

Bin-Daghr told Saba that increasing Nashtoon's depth from 4.5 meters to 7.5 will allow the port to receive way more big vessels and will facilitate the speed of their movement in the water. The control unit will improve the navigational efficiency, he said.

In the same visit, he inspected Khalfoot seaport, 4 kms away from Nashtoon.
Bin-Daghr also directed his accompanying officials to inspect the branches of their ministries in Mahrah.

Upon the directives, the Deputy Minister of Finance Manour al-Bitani inspected Shahen land port of entry and inspected the process of revenue collection and its compatibility with the rules.

The Deputy Minister of Electricity Mubarak Al-Tamimi, also one of the premier's accompanying officials, inspected the branch office of the Public Corporation for Electricity.

Today, Bin-Daghr had also laid the foundation stone for a 40 MW power plant for Mahrah to be financed by government at approx. USD 40 million.
"By the construction of such plant, Mahrah will no longer need to purchase power," the premier said.
