The International Federation for Journalists IFJ has called for the release of Yahya A. Aljubeihi, a veteran Yemeni journalist who is in detention of the Saleh-Houthi militias.
The IFJ called for his release to get to undergo treatment for some serious health issues he is suffering from.
"We are appalled at the treatment of YahyaAbduraqeebAljubeihi," said the IFJ's Secretary General Anthony Bellanger in a statement.
He said that the international community should make sure that those responsible for "his false conviction and treatment in detention will face justice for their terrible crimes."
"The constant targeting of Yemeni journalists is unacceptable and we call for all journalists currently imprisoned to be freed immediately," said Bellanger.
Aljubeihi, 61, was arbitrarily arrested by the rebel militias in September 2016. Later he faced a brief trial in a court run by the radical militias and given the death sentence for his dissent.
