The General Directorate of Passports of the Saudi Interior Ministry announced on Monday that it will begin granting official residencyto Yemeni holders of Visitor ID as of 25th of DholHijja in Hijri calendar (15 September 2017) .

The Agency said this comes as part of the Saudi continuous support and brotherly attitudes toward Yemen.

The new status will provide Yemeni workers in Saudi Arabia facilitations in employments, medical services and health insurance.

The Visitor IDs had been renewed in six-month extensions a number of times to retain the Yemenis in their livelihoods in Saudi Arabia, considering the hard situations in Yemen as a result of the Saleh-Houthi coup d'état.
