The Yemeni government has warned the Saleh-Houthiputschistsalliance against disposal of the government's real estate assets including the diplomatic missions properties abroad.
In a statement of which Saba obtained a copy, the foreign ministry said: "The title deeds for the Yemeni embassy's property assets are in the premises of the Foreign Ministry in the capital Sana'a, under the putschists' control. The so-called HishamSharaf has enabled the Houthis to take them (the documents). Now the leadership of the putschists' alliance is in the process of selling these properties aided by Sharaf who acts as a foreign minister to continue the scheme of authorizing Iranian and Lebanese brokers to sell these government-owned properties in more than one country."
The statement added: "The Yemeni foreign ministry has started addressing the concerned host countries beginning with the UK's Foreign Office; by warning against the disposal of propertiesbelonging to the Republic of Yemen and its diplomatic missions."
The ministry said it would "prosecute everyone involved in the attempt to legalize the putschists' disposal."
Earlier on, the putschists' alliance sold, in an illegal way, a property owned by the Turkish embassy in Sana'a.
The ministry reiterated its rejection of the alliance's disposal or tampering with the properties of any foreign diplomatic mission in Sana'a. "Such acts are criminalized by the Yemeni constitution and penalized by the law."
