PM inspects war-damaged buildings in Crater

Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin-Daghr has inspected several buildings damaged during the Saleh-Houthi militias' invasion of Aden in 2015 and the conflict they ignited in the city.

He inspected Huqqat Mosque and several houses in Crater town in the temporary capital Aden. The mosque vicar briefed the premier on the Houthi snipers' use of the mosque's minaret to gun down pedestrian which caused the mosque's damages in fire exchanges.

The premier directed the local authority and the Ministry of Public Works in particular to undertake the mosque's reconstruction.

The premier listened to accounts from people waiting for the reconstruction of their houses to be able to re-live in them.

The premier told them the reconstruction has begun with government funding worth YR 5 billion. He promised that the reconstruction will continue until every damaged property is repaired and that his government would seek to maintain a constant supply of basic services in the city; water, electricity, education, road pavements and salaries to civil servicemen.
