MANAMA-SABA
Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin-Daghar on Monday received here a number of Arab and foreign ambassadors to Bahrain, particularly ambassadors of the 18 countries supporting the GCC initiative.
The ambassadors were briefed on Yemen's developments and humanitarian situation which has deteriorated due the war staged by the Houthi-Saleh militias.
During the meeting, PM praised Arab and international positions supporting Yemen and its legitimacy in restoring the state and terminating the Houthi-Saleh coup.
"We do not want the war and it was imposed on the Yemeni people with the support of the former President Ali Abdullah Saleh's forces which took over the capital Sana'a after they destroyed and looted potentials of the nation and carried out its coup," bin Daghar added.
He spelt out that the government is keen to reach a comprehensive and permanent peace which may put an end to any future conflicts, pointing out that the peace will only be achieved through the implementation of the GCC-brokered initiative, the National Dialogue Conference's outcomes and the UNSC resolutions on Yemen.
Bin-Daghar further said that there are Iranian threats which imperil Arab and regional security, asserting that Iran trained militias to control the international straits, particularly Bab El-Mandab, and indicating that Iran tried several times to destabilize and target the international navigation.
