An agreement for implementing the first phase of rehabilitating al-Shubaika Water Network was signed on Thursday at the governorate building here.
Financed by the Yemeni-Kuwaiti Relief Committee (YKRC) within the campaign of Kuwait is by Your Side, the total coast of the project for its two phases is amounting to USD 500 million.
During the signing ceremony, Assistant Deputy Governor Salem al-Ahmadi, along with the General Manager of Water and Sanitation Corporation Ahmad al-Kutlah, praised Kuwait's stable position for supporting Yemen in different stages and conditions.
Representative of the YKRCTareqLakman briefed the most significant service and development interventions have been carried out by the committee here within the campaign. Up to now, education, health and water are included.
He noted that the first phase of the project includes rehabilitating al-Shubaik water, which feed the governorate's center and the nearby areas, aims at cleaning four water well at the coast of USD 360 thousand while the second phase of the project aims at importing, installing and operating water pumps units.
He highlighted cooperation and activation of the local authority with the Kuwaiti campaign.
