The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC( held a meeting today, Sunday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, with the attendance of its members Sultan al-Arada, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, and via video call Abdul-Rahman al-Mahrami and Othman Majli, while Aidaroos al-Zubaidi, Tariq Saleh and Faraj al-Bahsni were absent with an excuse.

Japanese ambassador hails PM insistence to work on the ground

The Japanese ambassador to Yemen, Katsu Yoshie Hayashi, has expressed his respect and admiration to Yemen's Prime Minister Ahmed bin-Daghr for insisting to work on the ground (in Yemen) among the people.

On the occasion of nearing the end of his duty tenure in Yemen, the Japanese ambassador, based in Riyadh, sent to bin-Daghr a letter carrying those feelings.

The outgoing ambassador praised bin-Daghr's efforts to restore normal life in the government-regained territories. .

"I am informing you that my mission as an ambassador of Japan to Yemen will end soon and I will leave Riyadh on 8 August 2017," the Arabic version of the letter reads.

"I had the great honor and deep pleasure of working with you," adds the letter. "We are all hopeful and working to support the Yemeni people to restore the peaceful life they deserve."

"Being one of the G-18 ambassadors who have been for long working toward peace and stability, I am hopeful that your strong will and brave works for peace will open a path for a political settlement to secure a a prosperous and peaceful Yemen in the near future."
