Vice President Ali Muhsin Saleh has said that the legitimate government is committed to human right principals and international conventions, pointing out that President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi issued a republican decree of forming a committee for this purpose.
During reception of the National Committee for Investigating Claims of Human Rights Violations on Sunday, the vice president was handed over the committee's third report which included violations which were documented and verified by the committee .
The vice president praised performance, professionalism and neutrality by the committee, stressing the importance of disclosing violators of human rights, protecting rights and holding criminals accountable.
He affirmed that the Houthi-Saleh militias commit murder, abduction, starvation and intimidation, confiscate rights, recruit children, target civilian's and besiege cities.
Saleh urged the committee to double efforts and overcome challenges, emphasizing that all government authorities are ready to cooperate with the committee and facilitate difficulties to enable the committee performing its duties.
The vice president was also briefed on the contents of the committee's reports including the third report which will be released soon in a press conference in the temporary capital of Aden.
The committee presented an overview on difficulties and challenges faced by the committee and as well as measures taken by the committee to guarantee its independence and impartiality.
