Yemen Says Houthi Militia Poses Direct Threat to Regional Peace, Condemns Attacks on Gulf Infrastructure
Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

PM: Govt allocated funds to reconstruct war-ravaged infrastructure

Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin-Daghr said Wednesday the government has allocated funds for reconstructing the war-ravaged infrastructure in Abyan province.

Addressing a speech ceremony organized by the provincial authority the premier said the government dedicated funds for the main roads especially the roads of Ahwar. Almahfad, Patis, Yafe'a, Jiaar and Lawder.

"Abyan was a subject to severe deprivation, war damage and extremism and terrorism scourges in the past," the premier said. "It is time to uproot this alien scourge, he added.

"The government will do its best to establish peace and security and put the wheel of development back in motion in Abyan; rebuild the damage left by the Saleh-Houthisas well as al-Qaeda."

The premier said that "in the coming days the government will lay the foundation stone for a 3 MW power plant in the provincial capital Zunjubar and neighboring districts."

Education, health and security will be reinforced be the return of government offices back to work, he added.

The governor of Abyan Abu Bakr Hussein welcomed the premier and said that the Saleh-Houthi militias and Qaeda organization has caused the majority of Abyanis to be displaced.
