Yemen's deputy foreign minister for political affairs Dr. Mansour Bajjash met the newly appointed Mexican ambassador to Yemen Alfredo Miranda today and received a copy of his credentials.
Bajjash expressed Yemen's gratitude to Mexico for supporting the Yemeni legitimate government. He called for promoting the bilateral Yemeni-Mexican relations in a manner that further contributes to the implementation of the UNSC resolutions concerning Yemen especially resolution no., 2216.
The Mexican ambassador, on his part, expressed his hopes for higher elevation of the bilateral relations which were started more than four decades ago.
He noted that his government supports the legitimate Yemeni government in the face of the coup d'état.
Bajjash also met the newly appointed ambassador of Finland to Yemen and received a copy of his credentials.
The two officials discussed the bilateral relations pledging to facilitate the mission of the new ambassador.
Bajjash thanked Finland for providing support to Yemen over the past two years and its pledge of an additional support in the Geneva Conference of April 2017.
Bajjash called on Finland to continue supporting Yemen on an EU level with a view to implementing the UN resolutions concerning Yemen and bringing to a halt the Iranian interferences in Yemen's internal affairs.
The Finnish ambassador referred to the depth of the 70 year long relations between Yemen and Finland, since the reciprocal recognition between the two countries (in 1947).
