Foreign ministers of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation OIC member states have re-affirmed their support to Yemen's unity, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

At the conclusion of the 44th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers which was held in Abidjan under the title "Solidarity with the Republic of Yemen and Support of the Legitimate State", a decision was issued demonstrating support to the Yemeni people's aspirations for freedom, democracy, social justice and comprehensive development.

The meeting emphasized support to the legitimate state headed by President Hadi and also emphasized the importance of adherence to the UN resolutions especially resolution 2216.

The decision welcomed the organization's efforts to convene an international conference for humanitarian and development aid and arrangements for the reconstruction of war-ravaged properties in coordination with King Salmaan Relief Center, UN organizations and other stakeholders.

Yemen deputy foreign minister for political affairs Mansour Bajjash expressed gratitude to the OIC and its member countries for their firm position supporting the legitimate government against the coup Saleh-Houthi militias.

He called the OIC member countries to quickly organize the ministerial meeting to mobilize more humanitarian relief aid and provide the requirements for partial and entire reconsutrction operations.

Bajjash made clear the government will remain in favour of lasting and jut peace that is based on thee internationally recognized terms of reference for peace; the GCC Initiative, the National Dailogue outcomes and the UNSC resolutions especially resolution no. 2216.

"The government believes that any political solution must lay the foundations for a real peace, not a temporary peace that will end up in new rounds of war in the future," he said.

"The government welcomed the recent proposals from the UN Special Envoy Ismail OuldChiekh concerning the militias' withdrawal from the Hodeidah seaport, setting mechanisms for collecting revenues and payment of salaries to public employees in return, a trust building measure in the lead-up to a real lasting peace. But the militias refused that proposal (of the UN envoy)."
