Marib dep. governor launches food distribution to returning IDPs

The deputy governor of Marib Abdu Rabbu Miftah launched today a food aid distribution program to IDPs who have returned to their houses in Al-Makhdarah and al-Jidaan, two Marib areas that had been purged from the Saleh-Houthi militia.

The deputy was accompanied by a team from the Emirati Red Crescent chaired by Ahmed Hussei bin Hadi.

Miftah inspected the areas and services affected by the war, affirming the importance of removing the numerous landmines and unexploded ordinances which the rebel militia planted largely in houses, roads, valleys and plantations.

The deputy governor said that work teams will start soon to rehabilitate the water and power projects in more villages in al-Makhdarah, Miftah, al-Moltaqa and al-Khani, as tofacilitate the return of the displaced back their villages.

The deputy governor warned the already returning IDPs to keep a sense of caution against the threat of landmines and UXOs.
