Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr has ordered the Finance Ministry to promptly pay YR 39 million to the Health Ministry's office in Taiz, in funding of their emergency budget for controlling watery diarrhea, an epidemic going viral in the province.
The premier took the decision during a meeting with the director general of Taiz health ministry office in Aden on Friday. The premier also approved a USD 120,000 monthly budget for the surgery and bones center in Al-Thawra state-owned hospital in the province.
When supplied, the budget will enable the accomplishment of 45 to 50 major surgical operations per week in these centers, according to the Health Ministry' submitted plan.
The premier also ordered the payment of 50% of the allocated (annual) budget to Al-Thawra and the Republican state-owned hospitals as well as the Swedish-Yemeni Hospital for Children.
