ERC to treat 90 wounded Yemenis at their expense in India

The UAE Red Crescent (ERC) has announced that it will bear the costs of treating 90 Yemenis who sustained injuries in the conflict that has been raging in the country since ignited by the coup militia in 2014.
The ERC said the move follows the directives the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan as well as the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Force, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The ERC indicated that the wounded will be treated in Indian hospitals and that it will also cover expenses of the companions who will travel along with the patients, an aspect of psycho. and emotional support program the organization maintains for the wounded it undertakes treating.
The ERC said that undertaking the treatment "comes as part of the continued support the UAE offers to alleviate the Yemeni people's suffering as a stand by their side in the hard conditions they have been facing."
The organization bears the costs of patients' transportation to the destination hospitals, in coordination with the Yemeni government.
Earlier, the organization had covered the expenses of treating scores of wounded others and sent medical and other relief aid convoys to Yemen. The UAE is a major supplier of diverse relief and developmental aid to Yemen.
The humanitarian and health conditions in Yemen have reached catastrophic levels due to the intransigence of the Houthi militias who bar relief and humanitarian aid from entry to the country's various regions.
