[18/06/2017 08:33]
Aden-Saba-

Human Rights Minister has condemned the bombing of three relief trucks carrying relief aid sent from the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian to Aid the needy people in Bayda governorate.

In a statement, which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) obtained a copy of it, the ministry said that this act is part of crimes committed against Yemenis which include sieges of cities, starvation of civilians and depriving them from relief assistances.

The statement affirmed this act comes in parallel to violations committed against relief workers, pointing out that two relief workers were killed, and 18 others were abducted and many of regional and international relief teams were impeded.

It indicated that UN envoys were prevented from visiting besieged cities, affirming that 533 trucks were targeted and 64 ships were also seized by the Houthi-Saleh militia.

It also cited that the attacks on relief convoys or their work are terrorism, war crimes, flagrant violations of the international humanitarian law, underlining that such violations will not be time-barred from prosecution and that perpetrators will be tried and sentenced accordingly.

The ministry appealed to the United Nations Security Council to move forward to put an end to the terror acts practiced by the Houthi-Saleh militias through the implementation of the UNSC Resolution 2216.
