VP, EU official discuss normalization of situation in Yemen

Vice President Ali Muhsin al-Ahmar and Head of the European Delegation to Yemen Antonia Calvo-Puerta on Friday discussed Yemen's developments and efforts made by the government to normalize the situation, reconstruct infrastructure and fight terrorism.
The vice president highly valued the European Union's support to Yemen's legitimacy, pointing out that it backs Yemen in different areas.
He spelt out that the Yemenis suffer much as a result of the coup carried out by the Houthi-Saleh militias which took over the state institutions, indicating that the militias confiscated salaries of the public servants and committed gross violations against Yemenis.
He condemned the attack on a assistance-loaded United Arab Emirates ship and bombing of carriers loading Saudi assistances to Yemenis, pointing out that the Houthi-Saleh are going on committing crimes and threating the international navigation.
The vice president called for putting pressures on the Houthi-Saleh militias backed by Iran and working to implement the UNSC resolutions on Yemen, particularly the Resolution 2216.
For her part the EU ambassador asserted that the EU will continue its support to Yemen's legitimate government and cooperation in fight of terrorism.
She also asserted that the EU is keen to deliver humanitarian assistances to the Yemeni people and put an end to their suffering.
