AMA calls UN Security Council not to ignore Yemen's abductees

Sana'a (Saba)- Abductees' Mothers Association (AMA) has expressed surprise over what it called "the UN Security Council's ignorance towards the case of the abductees and forcedly disappeared persons held inside the Houthi-Saleh custodies.

AMA on Thursday held a protest before the United Nations' office in Sana'a, decrying the disregard of the UN Security Council and its special envoy to Yemen Esmail Ould Cheikh Ahmed to the suffering of the abductees and their rights, and demanding to immediately release them without any condition.

In a statement, the association stressed its rejection to use the case of the abductees as a bargaining card, pointing out that they are innocent civilians who were illegally abducted from their homes and job places.

It also denounced the starvation policy used by the Houthi-Saleh militias inside the Political Security's prison, indicating that many of them are suffering from diseases and epidemics resulted by malnutrition and deliberate healthcare neglect.
