Minister of Fisheries Fahd Kafayen discussed on Wednesday with Vice President of the Islamic Development Bank Said Aga reconstructing fishery facilities damaged by Houthi-Saleh militias' war and Chabala ad Megh cyclones.
The meeting dealt with support and help of the IDB for fishery sector, especially reconstructing and maintaining damaged facilities.
"The ministry has provided a package of requirements of fishery sector in Yemen to the Islamic Development Bank,"said Kafayen, adding: "the requirements include constructing two fish ports, wave breakers, unloaded centers, ice factories and supplying fishers with fishing tools."
He highlighted efforts of the bank in supporting Yemen in this difficult period.
"The war triggered by Houthi-Saleh's rebel militias caused huge suffering to all Yemeni people in general and to fishers in particular as most affected category," he said.
He noted that supporting the fishery sector will help alleviating poverty and improving living conditions of two million people.
The IDB official confirmed continuation of support to Yemen and contribution of alleviating suffering of Yemeni people over the war's aftermaths
