ADEN-SABA- Minister of Local Administration and the Head of Relief Supreme Committee (RSC) Abdulraqeeb Fath called on the United Nations organizations operating in Houthi-held governorates to implement serious and fair rules and standards on providing and distributing relief assistances.
The purpose of adoption rules and standards on handing over relief assistances is ending irregularity and putting an end to cheating and deception practiced by heads of neighborhoods, who are affiliated with Houthi-Saleh's militias, distributing aid to undeserved people and selling them in black markets for financing their wars, said Fath.
He confirmed that random distribution of the relief in those governorates deprived big number of needy people of relief for the interests of the militias.
Minister Fath strongly decried putting obstacles and deception by the rebel militias on UN organizations for their interests, labeling these acts as moral and humanitarian crimes.
"The rebel militias are annoying the UN organizations and practice deception and tricks on most of organizations working in relief and humanitarian field causing negative and catastrophic results on locals in those governorates," he said.
He made it clear that the RSC coordinates with all donors from the GCC countries and the international community for the provision and hand over relief aid to all governorates but rebel militias create obstacles hindering arrival of aid to their held-governorates.
While he valued efforts of organizations working in those governorates, he warned of continuation of troubling organizations working in relief and humanitarian field, seizure of aid and imposing fees and taxes on relief assistances.
Minister Fath demanded the international community to put serious and strong pressure on Houthi-Saleh's militias to stop their aggression on relief organizations, looting relief and lifting the siege on all governorates to enable deserved people access to aid.
