MUSCAT, SABA-
Yemen's Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister, Abdul-Malik al-Mekhlafi, said the Yemeni government appreciates the role of the Sultanate of Oman in supporting its efforts to secure peace.
In a meeting, today, with the Sultanate's Deputy Premier for Cabinet Affairs Fahad bin Mahmoud Al Said, in the Omani capital, Muscat, al-Mekhlafi said the Yemeni-Omani brotherly relations are strong.
Al-Mikhlafi gave the Omani official an account on the developments in Yemen and the Yemeni government's efforts exerted to achieve peace and restore law and order in the already liberated areas (from the Houthi-Saleh rebel militia).
Al-Mekhlafi told the Omani official that the UN Special envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh's previous peace proposals came to failure as a result of the coup militia's inflexibility. He cited the militia's refusal to meet the envoy and shooting of fire on his motorcade in Sana'a.
